We are going to be covering two advanced strategies when playing as terran, these strategies might be known by a few people already, but they are extremely effective and can turn the tide of a battle in your favor. A lot of excellent players use a combination of these tactics with other various build orders

The Medivac Drop
This technique is fairly well known and it is an extremely simple one to pull off, yet a lot of players still do not use it. The trick to this tactic is to get hold of a group of marines and load them into a medivac (you can also use marauders if you wish. But I personally prefer marines to kill the SCVs quicker, although marauders do hit hard they fire so slow compared to the constant marine rifles).
With your loaded medivac take it around the edge of the map and towards the back of your enemys base, unload all of your marines just outside of the players minerals and quickly focus fire as many of his SCVs as possible, this will help in giving you an excellent advantage, it also provides a distraction if you are wanting to siege the front of their base.
Nuclear Distraction
This tactic is used very rarely, if you are playing excellent people then it will be difficult to really kill anything with a nuke, the best way to use a nuke is to use it as a distraction and a slowing tactic. Train up a ghost and a nuke, the best way to use the ghost is either to have cloaking enabled or a medivac, you need to get into places of their base where they did not expect and an attack and they feel safe.
Using your ghost target their SCV’s (or drones/probes) and launch a nuke onto their minerals, there will be one of two outcomes. If you see their workers run away then cancel the nuke, do not think this has been unsuccessful, you have stopped them from mining minerals for a decent amount of time and you still have your nuke + ghost.
The other outcome will be that they did not run away and you destroyed a lot of their workers, this is the best outcome but the only problem with this is that you cannot re-use the nuke.
Following on from their workers running away you can rinse and repeat annoying their economy and stopping them from mining any minerals whilst pushing the advantage back home.
